Jimi Hendrix is widely regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music. He delighted audiences in the 1960s with his outrageous electric guitar playing skills and his experimental sound. Inspired by his song "Fire" I took my pallet knife to canvas and threw down this purple homage to the late great guitarist.

As long as I can remember art has been a major part of my life. Art frees the mind and soul, I get great joy in seeing how my work touches and can inspire others. At a young age I can vaguely remember comparing my drawings with other kids and realizing that mine were different. My parents encouraged me to seek out various styles and types of art. When I was 13, I was the only kid in a life drawing class at night. I learned how fabric drapes on the human body, then we moved to drawing nude models. At 17, I attended Rhode Island School of Designs summer session, this experience opened my eyes to a whole new world of mediums and styles. I tried everything from printmaking to painting.
